ERA-NET Cofund on Sustainable Crop Production Joint Call will open on January 15, 2018

The ERA-Net Cofund SusCrop aims to support international collaboration in research on sustainable crop production. The network brings together research-funding agencies from 19 countries: Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania, Spain, Turkey, and United Kingdom. Estonia is represented in the network by the Ministry of Rural Affairs and Estonian Research Council.

One of the challenges of the 21st century is to ensure food and nutrient security for a growing population under climate change and pressure on natural resources. New ways of sustainable crop production are necessary to increase productivity, reduce the amount of used chemicals and/or improve the quality of the crops in order to maintain access to safe and nutritious food, to serve the increasing demand for industrially used biomass, whilst maintaining a healthy environment, natural habitats and biodiversity.

To meet this challenge, the SusCrop will open its first transnational call on January 15, 2018.

The joint projects must have a minimum of three eligible partners applying for funding from a minimum of three different SusCrop partner countries. The project duration must not exceed 3 years. The budget requested by the Estonian team may not exceed EUR 100,000.

A partnering tool is available for finding cooperation partners: https://www.suscrop.eu/partneringtool
