High-level seminar and a panel discussion “Overcoming the Innovation Divide in Europe: perspectives and possibilities”

PLEASE NOTE: REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED AND NO MORE PLACES AVAILABLE!

On May 28th, will take place high-level seminar and a panel discussion “Overcoming the Innovation Divide in Europe: perspectives and possibilities” in the Permanent Representation of Estonia to the EU (Rue Guimard 11/13, 1000 Brussels) from 15:00-19:30.

Members of the European Parliament and European Commission, along with university and industry representatives will discuss the trends and possible solutions for the gap in innovation capacity between EU regions and Member States, and reflect on how the Horizon 2020 programme can serve as an effective policy instrument for R&D cooperation between private and public sector institutions across all of Europe. As the recent Innovation Union Scoreboard 2015 suggests, overall Europe is showing a decreasing innovation performance, and the convergence of innovation capability between regions has stopped. This trend, and the Horizon 2020 first year results are worth discussing in the context of managing European and Member States’ innovation policy going forward.
