ERA CoBioTech – Cofund on Biotechnologies – announces its second transnational call

The ERA-NET Cofund project ERA CoBioTech is an international consortium of research funding agencies that aims to promote systems biology and synthetic biology as technology drivers to speed up research and innovation in industrial biotechnology.

In 2017, the network launched its first joint transnational call. Among others, two research projects involving an Estonian partner were awarded funding: ScaleApp: Investigating large scale bioreactor effects in microbial application (coordinated by the Jülich Research Centre and involving the Centre of Food and Fermentation Technologies as the Estonian partner) and YogurtDesign: Microbial community modeling for the production of ‘designer’ yogurt (coordinated by VU Amsterdam and involving University of Tartu as the Estonian partner). The Estonian teams are lead by professor Raivo Vilu and prof Petri-Jaan Lahtvee, respectively, and co-funded by the Estonian Research Council and European Commission.

Now, the ERA CoBioTech consortium is pre-announcing its second transnational call for research projects.

The one-stage call is expected to open on 16.10.2018 and close on 14.12.2018, 13:00 CET.
