The Norwegian-Estonian Research Cooperation Programme provided support to more than a dozen research projects

The final conference of the five-year programme will take place 21 -22 September in Laulasmaa. The research cooperation which started in 20013 linked researchers from both countries in thirteen research projects. The total volume of the programme was three million euro.

Invasion of alien pathogens in our forests, animals in changing environment, integration of migrants in Norway and Estonia, representation of an auditory percept and its underlying structural, neural and metabolic mechanisms in the brain, targeting glioma stem-like cells with tumor penetrating peptides, design and use of graph-based error-correcting codes  in wireless communication are but some examples of successful cooperation projects.

In addition to improving the cooperation of researchers from Estonian and Norwegian universities, the programme also supported student involvement in the projects and acquisition of new methods.

The conference will draw conclusions from the programme results and will provide information about Norway support opportunities during the next financial period.

The working language of the conference is English.

A wider aim of the Norway cooperation  programme is to strengthen bilateral relations with the aim of stimulating long-term cooperation, capacity and competence-building. An important objective of the programme is to strengthen human resources in research through facilitating international relations and involving PhD and master’s students in the projects.
