The Estonian Liaison Office for R&I in Brussels (ELO), together with the Estonian Ministry for Education and Research are happy to invite you to a seminar about “Opportunities and Challenges of Learning with Technologies: Evidence-based Education”, taking place on

Wednesday 12 November 2014, 13:30-18:00 at the Permanent Representation of Estonia to the EU (Rue Guimard 11/13, 1040 Brussels).

Programme and background information.

The goal of the seminar is to reflect on policies, trends and perspectives on the use of ICT technologies in teaching and learning in the Higher Education sector. The seminar also aims to introduce innovative learning initiatives implemented by the Estonian government, plus showcase how research groups at Tallinn and KU Leuven universities develop methods and applications for a evidence-based learning experience, bridging the gap between technological advancement and effective learning methods.

An update of the activities connected to the 2013 EC communication „Opening up Education“ will be presented by DG EAC (tbc), as well as the High-Level Group on the Modernisation of Higher Education new report “New modes of learning and teaching in universities“ from yesterday: http://europa.eu/rapid/press-release_IP-14-1188_en.htm

Please note that we are planning a matchmaking session prior to the seminar (in the morning) with the Tallinn University and KU Leuven researchers present. So you are welcome to forward the invitation to your RPO contacts in the field of ICT and education technologies.

Registration for the seminar is open until the 6th of November at: http://researchinestonia.eu/activities/events/seminars/

I advise to register early, as there should be lot of interest towards the HLG fresh report, and also the innovative applications develped by Tallinn and KU Leuven Universities are very interesting indeed.
